Today we’d like to introduce you to Thien Nguyen.
Thien, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My interest in photography was branched off from photo-editing hobby. Back 2010, I self-taught myself how to use Photoshop Element from YouTube videos. However, it was a challenge to find free high-quality original images to practice. Therefore, I purchased my first DSLR camera and eventually felt in love with photography.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was quite a challenge because I had no formal training. I self-taught from free internet sources and practiced with my family members. My first camera was also not the best so I borrowed money from student aids to upgrade. Later, I seek out for talents to set up photoshoots but no one replied back to me because my portfolio was full of family photos. I ended up hiring models in order to slowly build up my portfolio for about 2 years.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Thien Nguyen Photography – what should we know?
My specialties include weddings, editorials, and portraitures. Editorials and headshot portraitures are my favorite because I have to draft new ideas for each photoshoot. They are also what I’m known for. In addition, my images always have a distinctive vibrancy and clean look with attention to every detail.

My close friend Eddie would be by best photography supporter. He gave me great feedbacks after almost every photoshoot.
