Today we’d like to introduce you to Tonya Holmes.
Tonya, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2014 after 20 years in customer service, I decided to attend Bartending school. While in school, I was inspired to own my own business as opposed to working in clubs, restaurant or bars so upon the end of Bartending school, I started my own Bartending service. I currently have a team of 6 Bartenders and we specialize in working directly with event coordinators, caterers, and event venues.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has been a great although not smooth experience. 2019 was especially difficult when I got a foot infection in late August and had to run my business from my hospital bed for 2 1/2 months and through 2 surgeries. I’m actually currently unable to walk after having what I hope is my a final foot surgery December 30, 2019. Overall the experience gave me a better appreciation for life and my business. It showed me how resilient I am and boosted my faith in God’s plan for my life.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Icon Bartenders – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We specialize in working directly with event coordinators, caterers, and event venues. We enjoy customizing bar menus and assisting with cost saving bar shopping lists for events up to 200 people. I’m most proud of the longevity in the business which has given me the knowledge to teach others how to start their own mobile bartending companies through a Facebook Live class titled B.Y.O.B.B.(Be Your Own Bartending Boss) This by far sets me apart because no one we know of is doing it in this format.
