Today we’d like to introduce you to Traci Shannon.
Traci, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
After years pursuing a career in the theatre, I found myself a military wife and stay-at-home mom. I felt isolated and a little lost so I began blogging. I discovered a creative outlet and an opportunity to connect with other women; many of whom felt as I did. Over time, I have begun spreading the message that we can all shine like stars in our own lives.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Oh no. The online platforms are always changing and therefore constant adaptation is necessary. Also, as a mom, balance is the biggest challenge.
A Star in My Own Universe – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I share the beauty of everyday life and many of the things that living in Texas and especially the Houston/Galveston area has to offer. I am a Texas girl and bring a sense of pride that only a local can offer.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
For me, the definition of success has changed greatly. Before 9/11, it was success as an actress. Almost 20 years later, success is the health and happiness of my family… I hope to inspire others to embrace their lives in the now and not see joy as something somewhere off in the future.
