Meet Trailblazer Autumn Rogers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Autumn Rogers.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Autumn. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey began at the age of three. My older sister and I were riding in the back of my mother’s car and Keisha Cole’s song “Love” came on and my older sister began singing. It all came as a surprise to my mother when I overpowered my older sister and came out of nowhere singing the lyrics. From that moment, my mother knew I was going to be a singer when I grew older. I began singing at Talent Shows at family reunions, Happy Birthday’s at birthday parties for friends and family. I remember I had my very first live performance at the BFE Rock Club here in Houston, Texas and it was nerve-wracking! I knew no one and it was all so new to me. I ended up being the only female, solo artist and I just remember feeling my heart in the bottom of my shoes! By the grace of God, it was a great turnout.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I remember trying out for The Voice™️ twice. I still have not made it past round one to this day and it sometimes, feels discouraging but I continue making music and singing covers on Instagram and any social media platform I can. I’ve also auditioned to be on a remix with a well known Radio Host, Hard Body Kiotti and I was, unfortunately, not chosen and I still use moments like these to push myself further. I am always looking for opportunities to succeed where I can while following my dreams. Although, it may sound cliche I have found that I am more motivated when being shot down, because it makes you feel as though you want so badly to get a yes and that those couple of no’s have changed your mindset in a positive way to make you want to hustle harder and go after what you deserve. Some more advice I’d recommend is always do what makes you happy, if it’s draining you, walk away. If it isn’t positively benefiting your happiness leave it where it is.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am a female RnB and Pop solo artist from Houston, Texas. I am 19 years old and I write and produce my own songs, I also rap a little but I am solely a singer. What sets me apart from others is I don’t take no as an answer and I always find a way to make things work and find ways to help me overachieve and want to go further. I am definitely an overachiever already so it helps with my talent with music. I want to live lavishly and be able to be happy with myself and my talent.

Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
I love social media. There is not a day that I never see these “newly discovered” artists down my feed. It makes me so happy to see people moving up in life and that motivates me because, if someone can discover their talents, then that means, there is a possibility for me to make it and succeed in life.
