Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Scott.
Brianna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve wanted to start my blog for as long as I can remember. One day, while I was at work I started researching how to purchase a domain. I already had my blog name in mind so I quickly made my purchase to secure my domain and everything else pretty much fell into place from there.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road wasn’t smooth at all but I wasn’t expecting it to be. There are a lot of things financially that go into starting a blog that I don’t think I was prepared for at first so that was one of the things that set me back a little. Also growing a social media following, I don’t have many followers at the moment so that’s a little discouraging but I know good things take time. My advice to young women would be to just dive in. Do you have an idea? Act on it as soon as possible. You might not be an overnight success but you have to trust your journey and realize what was meant for you is already yours. Also, do tons of research for whatever you’re interested in pursuing.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about As Told by Scotty – what should we know?
I am a lifestyle blogger. It feels so weird typing that since I’m fairly new to the “job” but it’s something I’ve wanted to pursue for a long time. On my blog, I’ll cover a range of topics all falling into four different categories: fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and adventures. The thing I’m most proud of about my brand is that I’ve built it from scratch so to say and I’m working hard behind the scenes to ensure its success. What sets me apart is that I’m just your average everyday kind of girl. I’m still in college and I work part-time. My life isn’t a lap of luxury which is what you get with a lot of other bloggers. I’m the real deal and I want my readers to know that.
Which women have inspired you in your life?
My mom is my greatest inspiration. There’s no other woman stronger than a single mom. I’ve watched my mom broke her back just to make sure I and my siblings were well taken care of and even now that we’re adults she still helps us out when she can even though she doesn’t have to. She’d give us her last and we’d all do the same for her. She is classy, graceful, wise, and strong. Everything that I’m striving towards being now that I’m stepping into adulthood.
