Meet Trailblazer Jade Stenger

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jade Stenger.

Jade, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am originally from Corpus Christi, TX where I graduated from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi; GO ISLANDERS! It was here that I met my college sweetheart and we have been married for five years and together we have a son. Through both my professional experiences and my son, I have learned how to be an effective servant leader who is committed to making school be a meaningful experience for each child.

My journey to becoming an educator began when my life hit a moment that many are faced with — a life changer that will determine if you will rise or fall and for me it was being diagnosed with a neurological movement disorder called, Dystonia — it was a teacher — who I honestly did not like at much at first because he called me out on my crap, and I did not like that very much at that time — who was the first to show me the impact an educator can have on someone’s life. It was this teacher who helped me realize my why — to ensure that every child has a learning experience that they find meaningful and prepares them for their future endeavors. I currently serve as an Assistant Principal at a college and career high school whose vision is that every student will have a career opportunity or education placement when they graduate high school and I have to say that serving at this particular high school is a true honor because its vision matches so perfectly with my why.

I take it to the heart to lead by example and to always find opportunities for growth because failure is not an option, but instead another stepping stone in the journey that we can learn from and become even better as a result.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
When I was diagnosed with Dystonia, I thought my life was over. I no longer felt beautiful and that was devastating to think that a disorder can make me feel less than. It took God putting my spouse in my life which makes me feel so beautiful and worthy. And, when I became a mother my mother became more apparent. I want my son to have confidence in who he is and so, I carry myself that same way as well.

We’d love to hear more about I’m Jade Stenger.
I love sharing all things beauty, fashion, hair, education, and mom/wife life. I love all my roles in my life and find it important that more women should share who they are with others. We can all learn from each other and it is so empowering when women unite together.

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
One thing that has played a huge role in my success is the fact that my parents taught me to get to know all people. I value what each person can bring to a table and truly believe that we can do more together than separately.
