Today we’d like to introduce you to Vero Nica.
Vero, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Well, like most people. I started going out to night clubs at an early age. I was so fascinated with the night life. I wanted to be apart of people having a great time. Every time I went, I made sure to meet a staff member. Eventually, I knew everyone and that’s when I started to work at them. I also modeled at the low rider car shows in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin for 5 years straight and made a name for myself. I even did 3 low rider super shows in Vegas.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely hasn’t been smooth. In this industry, you have to have thick skin or you won’t make it. Management in this industry typically is a “males” role but if you want it bad enough as I did, you can make it happen. Don’t give up even when you get to where you want to be
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Bombshells – what should we know?
Bartending is a fun and exciting job. There is never a dull moment. Working from the bottom and moving up is what sets me apart. I have worked every position and have been it in for over 20 years now. And now I’m part of the management team at Bombshells. Bombshells usually promotes their female managers within. I am one of a few that did not ever work there. Their goal is to have more female managers due to having a full female staff. You know us girls have to stick together.
Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
I love reading any inspirational books about all subjects. I have a subscription to Scribd it’s like less than $9 a month. It has a ton of audio books as well as hard covers. I like to listen to any Inspiring books, self help books, business books, and astrology books. I love to learn about our zodiac signs and how the phases of the moon effects our daily lives even though most don’t know it does.
