Meet Wayne Warren II of Ovation Event Staffing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wayne Warren II.

Wayne, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We started in September of 2015 here in Houston Texas. I always knew I wanted to own my own business and I wanted to help people not just customers but build a fun positive environment for employees as well. Working in corporate America for over ten years really allowed me to see how a business is run and structured and I just wanted to take that leap and do it. Owning your own business truly is the American Dream and this country allows us to really accomplish as much as we want with hard work and a positive attitude. And to me, there is no Greater City in Texas to start a business than in Houston Texas. I would say my only regret is not doing it sooner.

A huge break for us was the Super Bowl being Hosted here it allowed us to really get out and show how amazing our staff really is and we are very grateful for all of our clients who have given us that opportunity and continue to do so. We are growing more and more each month and now service not only the greater Houston area but Dallas-Fort Worth/ Austin/ San Antonio and College Station. The company wouldn’t be where it is today if it wasn’t for our amazing and talented staff. Being able to see the smiles they put on peoples faces and all the wonderful feedback i get is truly what it’s all about. We have only been together for two years but we are just getting started and the sky is the limit.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road but in my opinion, if anyone has had a smooth road when starting a business then they are either not taking enough risk or they have set the bar too low for themselves. There is a reason why 85% of small business fail and its because its a constant struggle that you have to continue to keep pushing forward and have a positive mindset because there will be bad days and weeks and even months but eventually you will break through and its worth every minute of it. . But I have been fortunate to have had some really great mentors and influences in my life to prepare me for the pitfalls and well we have not fallen into that 85% and have no plan on ever being a part of that group.

Ovation Event Staffing – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Well, we are an event staffing company so we provide staff such as bartenders, wait staff, and chefs to any and every event you can imagine. We do weddings, birthday parties, holiday parties, baby showers, funerals, company outings and parties you name it we have done t. And well I cant say we specialize in any one thing but our whole goal and mission is to ensure we do our part to make sure all of our clients are happy by ensuring their guest are happy. The role we play is much more than just serving food or making drinks we really want to let everyone enjoy the party by being a part of it and taking and responsibilities or concerns that person may have by going above and beyond with our service. If you are hosting a party it should be something fun that you get to be a part of not dreading it because you are having to make sure everyone is taken care of which is exactly what we do for you.

I can recall several times we have been working an event and a husband or wife will come up to me and say i am so glad we hired you because we have this party every year and I have never seen he or she truly enjoy it like this year “we are so glad we hired yall” When you get comments like that it really makes you feel good inside and it goes back to what I said in regards to helping people it truly is a great feeling. And well what I feel that sets us apart from other staffing companies as well not just our staff but the level of pride they take in each and every event. It means a lot to each one of them individually that they go out and give their best effort and that they do their part in ensuring that each and every event is a success. So by each staff member holding themselves accountable, it really allows us as a company to maintain such a positive reputation in the industry.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Wow, let me see I would have to say Super Bowl week. We got to be a part of some of the biggest events and parties of the week such as the ESPN party, Maxim Party, Bulls and Blackjacks to name a few. So to see our staff really shine and in front of so many famous celebrities, athletes, and entertainers was truly a wonderful feeling and really awesome to be a part of. It’s really different seeing people on TV or on the field or court etc and then there you are serving them a drink or food but our staff remained calm and super professional and that really made me proud.
