Rising Stars: Meet Adrian Green

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Green.

Hi Adrian, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up on the north side of Houston, Texas, home of the legendary Scarface DJ Screw. I’m the oldest of the two boys raised by a single mother, and no dad on the weekend grew up playing sports and doing entertainment got my first gig and doing a play which led me to do Talent shows. I got discovered a local team party by the legendary DJ Michael Watts, which one of the innovators of what we call slow down music screw I became a member of legendary group called Swishahouse, my label mates with Slim Thugg, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, Big Tiger, Big Pic, little Mario, 50/50 Twin, Archie, Lee, Lesterroy, lil Ron, I’m on Gold albums and have recorded songs with platinum artists like lil Flip. In the early years of my career, I ended up making a wrong turn, getting caught up in street activities, and started living a life of crime, which led me to jail a cell. My first case was in 2004 for distribution of cocaine and narcotics through the state of Alabama. Ended up catching another charge later and was found guilty for homicide. I went from the top to hitting rock bottom. Money, cars, clothes, jewelry, drugs, and a bunch of women is the lifestyle I lived. I traveled around the world doing shows with big names like Lil Wayne Cash Money, Juvenile, and Master P during those times. Swishahouse was on the top of the game and the best thing to blow from Houston, Texas. I traded my life in to sit in a cell, and the judge gave me 50 years, saying that I will never get out of prison. All the money in the world couldn’t help me, so I know I had to turn to God, and he helped me through many nights’ lonely nights in a cell. Where I found myself beginning to understand life and not take it for granted during my incarceration.

I learned about fate, and I started to manifest my destiny by every choice I made whether good or bad, it came into existence. I knew staying in prison was not my life calling. I knew that God had another plan for me. I never claimed 50 years; I would say I’m going home and see you 2007 when I was released from prison in 2008. The second half of my life manifested into greatness. I’m a motivational speaker. I wrote three albums. I do a podcast called “The Last Walk,” catered to my brother and sisters on lock. I am their voice when they’re not heard. I also own a business venue hall called H-Town Event Center. I really defeated the odds of recidivism, showing the society that a man or a woman can change if given the opportunity!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Just adapting back into society, learning technology because when you were away for so long, technology is taking away from you, So I had to pretty much start life over. Sometimes it feels like I missed out on a lot in life. Because I want so much more, now it’s time to play catch up on what I want to accomplish out of life.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a rap artist formally on Swishahouse label, and I go by the name of A.D. Green. I’m a young entrepreneur and I’m into money market instruments, stocks, Forex trading. I own a venue that hosts private parties, birthdays, and I’m a motivational speaker.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success takes blood, sweat, and tears. For example, you’re the first person in the gym and the last to leave. You must give it your all. You have to be dedicated and focused. Success is trial and error, learning what works and what doesn’t work for you.
