Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Windom. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Austin Windom, (born September 24, 1997) Also known As “AUS10” is a lyrical Hip-Hop artist originally from Los Angeles, California. His style is unique and raw and his message and sound have become clearer and clear over the years. Starting in his journey around 2016 with his first mixtape O.A.B (Ova Any Beat) He immediately showed his diversity with different instrumentals. This led to a vast beginning of a new journey into the realm of creating music. Since then he has released multiple bodies of work and has remained independent while traveling to expand as a well-known Hip-Hop artist. Now, in the year 2022, the goal is to work towards receiving worldwide recognition since my new music to come is that much better.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road, it’s had its challenges along the way self-doubt, am I worthy enough, is people really gonna listen to my music but nevertheless I always find myself breaking through my limiting beliefs and it’s always worked in my favor at the end whether it’s just in the form of a positive comment from a new listener, a blog post, or some type of recognition in the long run, I can’t be more thankful… The independent route in music is not for those who give up. I’m very determined to get it right, whether that’s on every take in the booth while recording, every word and syllable while writing songs or every live performance. Once it’s how I like it, and I am comfortable with what I’ve created I always know there’s always a BETTER around the corner. With that being said the creativity possibility is endless for me. I love it and want to just continue to create more.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What I specialize in is Rapping & Songwriting. Every song I’ve ever made since around age 14, in the year 2016 was written by me. Aside from being a cool guy, rapping is what most people know me for. I’m very passionate about it and put as much time as needed to make a song how I like it and over the years I’ve come to understand what I thought was cool then was just a start for what would be a long journey to building self-confidence and self-mastery in my craft. What sets me apart from others is my attention to detail, for example, there have been times when I’d actually incorporate audio that encapsulated the feeling of what I said so that the song could be more immersive as if you were actually there.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
As Independent artists continue to be empowered with different platforms to share their music I think with time it’s only going to get better, Hip-Hop is a fairly new genre since August 11th, 1973’ and it has much time to mature. So while I’m here I’m going to bring all of me on these new songs so that they can move in the right direction and inspire the next wave that’s up next.
