Rising Stars: Meet Claudia Navarro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia Navarro.

Hi Claudia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi, I am Claudia Navarro and I’m the owner of Jazelle’s Boutique. In the end of July 2020, I took a leap of faith and dived into obtaining my business license and seller’s permit having no knowledge in retail and what was to come. I knew it would be a challenge like no other aside from being a wife, mother, grandmother, and working a full-time job.

Prior to the boutique, fashion jewelry was my obsession and I would get so many compliments from others on how I coordinated jewelry and outfits. I was online boutique shopping too much (I would not miss a live sale even if it was just to watch). Some would suggest for me to sell clothing but it never crossed my mind. Needless to say, in September of 2020, I launched my boutique website, which then followed my weekly live sales. Interacting with my customers is so much fun. The constructive criticism and positive feedback I get from my customers help me know that I am making them feel more confident and helping them step out of their style comfort zones. Even them telling me that they love to hear my contagious laughter makes me not want to miss having a live sale.

In December of 2020, I attended my first pop-up market. Let me tell you that now I at least attend 2-3 local markets a month. My weekly lives are still going strong!

Throughout this past year, I have met so many great people and have learned so much. I love to encourage others to go for their dreams and goals no matter how little or how big they are. Always keep a positive attitude and you shall succeed!

My dream would be to have a brick and mortar /mobile boutique in the future.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Although I have a passion for boutique sales, I would say there have been quite some struggles, definitely finding the time to give to my family, deciding on finding the right vendors, finding the best quality of clothing, preparing quarterly taxes, But, I know that our struggles teach us to be better at what we do!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Medical Billing Specialist for one of the largest Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery groups in Houston, Texas. I help physicians with their insurance claims and help patients understand the insurance process.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My family is my number one supporter and; My husband Armando for always helping setup up at every event we attend being our personal mail courier taking packages to the post office, and overall filling in the gaps for me when I’m attending to the boutique. Cayla Jazelle-(daughter) my little assistant, always helping set up at events, helps tag inventory, etc.

My mentor -Mindy Maas- Drove all the way to Weatherford, Tx to get some one on one mentoring from one of the most popular online boutiques.

Overall, I have friends that have became family and are a great deal of support.
