Today we’d like to introduce you to Obeykhriz.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Obeykhriz. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Contemporary artist, originally from the city of San Luis Potosi, Mexico but moved at a really young age to Houston. I started drawing when I was in middle school, studied art for a while but then started to self teach my self by experimenting with new techniques. Then, had my debut as an artist at the Surreal Houston art show around three years ago at the Surreal Houston art show in the Hardy and Nance studio. From there, I painted a mural by the downtown area called “We are one” which was a monument to the immigrant children that were separated from there parents around a year ago.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been easy, but I had always stay positive and that has helped me a lot.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Well, I’m an upcoming artist. I specialize in creating art, mixing styles of surrealism, pop and contemporary, always with a vision of being one of the most respected successful artists and to be well known internationally. I’m proud that I always try to motivate people to keep going and to never give up on their dreams. What sets me apart from others is that I want to bring a new era of art that no one has seen before and that would make an impact in history.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
When I would ride my bike to go to the park and play soccer and felt the breeze and just enjoy everything.
