Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The housing industry is full of struggles. As a builder we are expected to be an expert in not only one area of a custom home, but on every aspect of how a home is built and the many varieties of materials and equipment that are installed into our homes. Combine this with the need to work with multiple personality types and multiple client dynamics and we are full time multi-personality, relationship counselors.
If all that was not enough, the luxury housing market is a fickle one. We deal with market fluctuation that can cause major swings in work load that seem to be caused by the smallest insecurity in the country. Even an election can cause gaps in a normal operating work pipeline.
Having said all of that, we build beautiful homes because we are in love with the creation process and making something that is not only appealing to the eye, but satisfies a basic need in a beautiful way.
Houston Heavenly Homes – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Heavenly Homes is a full service design/build custom home building company, whom also works with other Architects, that maintains cost controls throughout the design phase, instead of after. This is a more time consuming process in the beginning but sets budget expectations properly and early. It also makes the building process move faster and with greater organization.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is often defined by the positive reaction that others give to our work. This is how I would define our company’s success. Personal success can only be achieved by realizing and believing that you cannot please everyone and that the efforts you make are constantly to the best of your ability.
