Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Pisani.
Jennifer, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My background is in graphic design, so photography was just a natural aspect of design for me that I love.
I worked for almost 12 years for a restaurant company doing their design work but started photographing on the side. Once I left there, I really started my photography business. At first, I was photographing anything and everything but then started to really focus on families and graduating seniors. I love how a photo can tell a story or can bring back a feeling. For me seeing my clients’ reaction when looking at their photos fills me such joy. I get so inspired by my clients when I meet with them to discuss and plan what their photo session will entail.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a boutique photographer, specializing in seniors and families. Everyone I photograph is designed to reflect who they are; their photos should showcase that. Each client’s session is different because let’s face it… none of us are the same, and our images should reflect that. I spend a lot of time with each of my clients from the first phone call to delivering their artwork to them. I get to know them and their personalities so that when we get to the day of their session, I capture who they are.
It has always been important to me that clients have their photos printed. Their photos are artwork and should be displayed. Having four children of my own, I know how fast they grow up, and I cherish the photos we have of them when they were little. When I walk by them on the wall, I smile. I want the same for my clients. And I only offer the highest quality products of their photos so they will last a lifetime. How cool is it to think that their grandchildren will have photos to look at and see their family history years from now.
Working with alot of high school seniors is always so energizing for me. They are excited about their senior year, and they have such a great vibe to feed off of. Capturing who they are and all that makes them gorgeous, talented and unique is super special to me. I go into each session wanting them to feel confident, beautiful and relaxed. One senior after us previewing her images from her session said, “wow! I never really saw myself this pretty.” It was one of the biggest compliments I have ever received. I want all my clients to feel and see that.
What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
I think passion is essential to being successful. If you are not passionate about what you do, it shows.
As an artist, I would define success as truly making my clients so happy that they come back to me over and over again.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
