Today we’d like to introduce you to David Sanchez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us David. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I worked for a technical school doing I.T, work for several years until the government shut the school down. During that time, I was in a relationship and began nursing school. I did photography as a hobby and photographed allot of cycling events as I am an avid cyclist.
To supplement income, I began working with a company part time doing sports photography. Eventually, I became a full-time lead photographer and began the process of doing my own business shooting anything from Senior portraits to product branding. I now get to enjoy working with professionals in the field, along with working with creatives on projects and collaborations. I’m excited to see where this road will take me.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I can’t say it has been a smooth road. With any business, there are always start-up costs and the stress of building on leads and knowing the business side of making an income. I had to struggle with having a constant set income to having to get out there and make that income. But in all said, I am gaining momentum and getting my name out there for bigger leads.
Please tell us about D76 Photography.
By nature, I am a sports photographer, but I specialize in portrait work, whether it be senior portraits, headshots, bridal shoots. I don’t limit my work to a specific area. Why would I want to limit my creativity. What I am known for is my creative lighting techniques. I love to teach creative lighting to up and coming photographers who are wanting to learn off-camera flash. What I am most proud of is that clients appreciate the work I provide and that they are willing to pass on referrals to me. The thing that sets me apart from others is the ability to work with clients and get the right fit they need.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
As a child, one of my favorite memories is of me, my brother, and my dad walking along the side of the road and we came across a field where there were millions of fireflies lighting up the evening sky.
