Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Bodine.
Chris, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I was always into art as a kid, but drawing and painting are all very time consuming, and the older I got, the harder it was to find the time. Then a friend’s dad offered to sell me his camera when he upgraded, and I bought it from him. I started just photographing anything like landscapes, random objects, or street candids. Then I moved into portraits after friends kept asking me to and it started growing pretty quickly after that. It was a cool hobby for a number of years, but now it’s a full-time business.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I’m a portrait photographer for the most part. I take portraits of all types, but most of what I’m hired to do falls into the boudoir or glam category. I’m a firm believer that one doesn’t have to fit a certain mold to have “sexy” photos done. My main goal is always to show my clients that they are more than what they’re being told. My work ranges from classic boudoir style to more edgy content also.
In your view, what is the biggest issue artists have to deal with?
In this particular field, I think the biggest challenge is finding a way to stand out. There are a million great photographers in the Houston area now. I think the key is in the editing, but I believe the most important thing is making sure that all clients feel safe and comfortable during their shoots.
