Meet Plashette Green of PG Events & Designs in Southwest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Plashette Green.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started by just doing my own kids birthday parties years ago. My family and friends always told me I have a special talent. I love decorating and setting up events and bring my visions into place. Most of my events started with family and friends. They always supported me and wanted me to decorate more for others.

So I did. I started by my own baby shower and then my friend’s kids birthday parties. Later on, I started to do photo frames what people use to take pictures in for any special occasion. I did over 50 photo frames. I posted one from a bridal shower for a friend. Then after that, I was receiving a lot of orders from social media. Then back came decorating kids parties, baby showers. Doing treat tables for any occasion requested.! Whatever needed to be done for an event, I did it all. My business kicked off two years ago. Doing my little cousin Minnie Mouse house party then later came to a while baby shower set up. After I post on social media. My event planning kicks off. I am so grateful and appreciated to my family and friends who believed in me. I also shared my events, treat tables, photo frames, etc.

Now I have my own business and also still work Full time. While starting this business, I never imagine how much I will grow and how many events I have done. I love seeing my client’s faces after I am done. It makes me keep going and to do bigger and better events in the future. I also picked up another talent while starting my event business. I also make treats dipped apples, dipped pretzels, dipped rice krispies treats, dipped strawberries. I just love what I do. My kids, family, and friends are my motivation. They keep me going and always have my back in whatever I do. It’s good to be around positive people that will help you and motivate you to keep going and focus on your dream and passion.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been a smooth road. And rough road. Some struggles are making sure clients like some ideas. Making sure they are satisfied. Making sure things that need to be ordered come in time. Never be last minute. Always stay on top of things.

PG Events & Designs started over two years ago. I started off doing my own kids birthday parties and making photo frames for any event or occasion. I also specialize in party favors, chip bags, water bottles, personalize candy boxes, personalize cups, name blocks, Centerpieces, etc. I am so proud of all the people who believed in me and who let me plan the event. I am proud of how many clients I have gave and the ones who always come back next year around or referred me to the family or friends. What set me apart from others is that I take my time to set up any event with the help of one of my sisters, Kalisha Benjamin. We are a team. I make sure my clients are happy after my work is done. I love sending them ideas and how they send me ideas and I bring their vision to life. I have reasonable prices and love getting back feedback from my clients.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, Houston is a good place for event planners. We have a lot of great event planners out here. I would recommend someone who is starting out is to advertise your work and never give up. Keep focusing on what you want. Don’t let no one bring you down even if people don’t like your prices. It’s always someone willing to work with you.
