Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Le.
Tara, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Ever since I was a child, I would always have my mom snap pictures of me anywhere we went. It was about in September of 2018 when I had my first official “photo shoot” I didn’t think of it as much. Just thought the photographer just needed some content. Soon after that, I was flooded with “can we shoot?” I didn’t know what was happening I was completely blindsided by it. From that day till now I have been working on making a name for myself and expanding on my freelance modeling and along with the support of the community and all my friends and family, I am finally Starting to live a dream. Everything happens for a reason and if I hadn’t had the opportunity to express my passion for modeling I have no clue where I would be right now.
Besides modeling I have such a joy for fitness, it was a couple of months after doing modeling that I decided to start a fitness account @taralefit and on this page I have a mission to inspire young ladies that anything can happen as long as you are dedicated and are willing to put in the work to see your dreams as a reality. Creating this page shows people an active side to myself and it truly helps me keep up with my progress. It truly is a big part of me and I hope to inspire more people!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Growing up in an Asian household everything was really geared towards education. Which of course is a must, but my parents are from Vietnam so when I started modeling they didn’t really know how to support it, so for a while I went off my friends support, I can not be more blessed with such amazing friends! Another big struggle was always questioning am I truly good enough for this industry. I always had self-doubt but always thought back to why I wanted to model in the first place and every time I ask myself that I get re-motivated. I think my hands down hardest challenge was not comparing myself to other models. Each and every individual has a special spark/gem and that is why this community of models is beautiful we are all unique and have our own personalities and that is what makes us different.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a freelance model meaning I am my own boss I manage myself. With modeling it is sort of difficult to get paid shoots if you are not under an agency or well known, so anytime I get the opportunity to work with a photographer I let them know my goal on building on my brand and a lot are very understanding and it feels great to know people take my work serious it is such an amazing feeling.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My big plans is to graduate high school in the year of 2020 and kickstart my career in business!! I’m so excited to be starting up my senior year this semester big opportunities will blossom for me and I am excited for the ride!
