Born Cory Miller, this multi-talented DJ, songwriter, instrumentalist, producer and tastemaker has roots in East Houston where his love and passion for music was born. From playing percussion with spoons and bowls in his high-chair to producing fully mastered albums and mixes for himself, local rappers, musicians and performers in high school, this dynamic artist has always been destined for distinction.
Known for his extremely popular mixes and eclectic blend of musical styles, Good Grief has one of the longest spanning careers among his peers, and his reputation as a diverse artist has made him one of the most in-demand DJ’s in Houston. He has played at Houston’s most popular venues and was a regular on Houston’s flagship Hip-Hop/R&B station 97.9 The Box. Even though Grief has comfortably evolved into the all-digital age, he always respects his roots and can battle anybody on the 1’s and 2’s with old school vinyl.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Exactly .. no road to success is smooth, staying humble and striving for future success makes the ride more enjoyable.
Please tell us about World Of Goodness.
I DJ disco, hip hop, house, electro and genres within those on Digital platforms as well as Vinyl formats. My radio show ‘Spread Love w/ DJ Good Grief’ on Amazing 102.5 Fm celebrates talented indie artists. I work closely with up and coming artists inviting them to collaborate on mixtapes, studio production, and currently have a few DJs under my wing, mentoring them from my 30 year DJ experience.
Current ventures are ‘ The morning Grind ‘ 7am-10am mon-fri Amazing 102.5 Fm, ‘Spread Love w/DJ Good Grief’ 6pm-10pm mon-fri Amazing 102.5 Fm.
I play special events, including this weekends Lil Keke’s Annual 7thirteen day & recently VeganVybes Fest.
My social media focuses on my relationships with the artists I work with while sprinkling meditative mind & alternative vegan lifestyle changes.
My music production business has been around 30 years from underground to mainstream.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Diggin for records with my mother and learning to play music with my big sis
