Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Floyd.
Pamela, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My first career was as a school teacher in Beaumont, Texas, where I purchased my first home. It was a small house that I made a number of cosmetic improvements to while I lived there, and I actually made money on it when it sold. I couldn’t believe it!
After relocating back to Houston, I had the fortunate opportunity of living next door to a realtor who specialized in investing in & flipping homes. He helped me find my first investment property in Montrose, a duplex that I purchased and turned it into a single-family home. It was a very successful first investment, and I was hooked!
This gave me the opportunity to transition from teaching to real estate full time. I became a licensed real estate agent in Texas and never looked back.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The real estate market is never a smooth road! You have to be flexible and learn to roll with the punches. In the twenty years, I have been a real estate broker, I have seen many ebbs and flows in the market. But there is always opportunity for investment when the market cools, as it is a great time for investors to purchase properties for resale once the market improves.

Floyd Realty Firm LLC was established in 2013 and is a member of the National Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors and Houston Association of Realtors. We are a full service, boutique real estate firm specializing in residential real estate throughout the Houston metroplex. As a principal of the firm, I am a hands-on broker who enjoys interacting with clients as well as agents. I personally love the search to find my clients the perfect home and help them navigate the process from beginning to end.
What were you like growing up?
As a child, I was a shy and introverted. I am still an introvert at heart but with extrovert tendencies! Since the summer I turned sixteen, I have had a job and have done everything from daycare, retail, receptionist, and retail management, which I believe contributes significantly to my work ethic in the real estate business. Throughout my childhood, we spent a lot of time on the water, from water-skiing, boating to fishing, which has carried through into my adult life. In my downtime, I still love to spend time by the bay, and I am not only very familiar with Houston area real estate but Galveston real estate too!
