Meet Ashley Odom of Omazing Occasions in South/ Pearland Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Odom.

Ashley, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I began my business Ashley’s Diaper Doodads in 2013 by creating diaper cakes and gifts to develop an additional source of income and soon after I started to have a decent flow of business. The following year, I wanted to expand into products that would be fantastic for other occasions besides baby shower.

After doing some research, I learned about chocolate covered Oreos and my business, Omazing Occasions, flourished and became what it is today. Since 2015, I’ve expanded my product line to include chocolate dipped pretzels and strawberries, rice krispy treats, and chip/treat bags and other items. Over these past four years, I’ve provided personalized treats for birthdays, weddings, retirements, baby and bridal showers, anniversaries, baptisms and so much more!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In the beginning, the road to success became bumpy because I was limiting myself to a certain demographic and type of customer base. Once I expanded my product line, I opened the door to much more opportunity and it’s one of the best decisions that I’ve made for my brand.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Omazing Occasions – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I create personalized treats for any occasion from birthdays to baptisms. My product listing includes chocolate dipped pretzels, strawberries, and rice krispy treats, chip/treat bags, Candiliquors (adult novelty lollipops) and personalized items such as t-shirts, bags and mugs. My most popular item is my chocolate covered Oreos with edible images.

I’m most proud of the consistency that I’ve had with my products and the return customers that I’ve gained. Most of my business comes from word of mouth or from people seeing my work at an event. I’m somewhat of a perfectionist, so all I do all of the work that goes into my products to ensure that each is executed to my expectations for my customers.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m looking to expanding my skill set for the products that I am currently creating and thinking of exploring adding an additional item or two to my product line. I’m also exploring the idea of creating a subscription box that would highlight my products and other entrepreneurs that are on their grind as well.
