Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronnita Huff.
Ronnita, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started doing hair at the age of 13. Years later, I became a professional breeder in California for a few years. I later moved back home to Cleveland Ohio and became a licensed cosmetologist in 2009. I was a salon owner for seven years before my move to Houston Three years ago. My passion is healthy hair runway high fashion hair.
I got where I am today with hard work and dedication my transition to Houston Texas was the biggest risk I’ve taken in my life. Houston welcomed me with open arms and took my career further than it’s ever been I’m looking forward to so much more in the coming years. Recently my supporters talked me into releasing my first cookbook cooking with Ronnita. Cooking was a passion that I never realized until my supporters brought it to my attention. Now I’m sharing my tricks and lifestyle tips with everyone.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road was not small for me it took me until I was 25 to enroll in cosmetology school although I was doing hair for years before that. Doing here in my hometown wasn’t a struggle until I open my own salon it took about a year and a half for me to get the hang of things and there was nothing but success after that until I relocated so Houston Texas starting completely over with zero clients, a few friends no family. My marketing manager (Tenia Harris)and I struggle for a little while to find my target market once we master that I went from 0 to 600+ clients quickly after. My journey helped my sister who moved to Texas last year be able to build up a saw that clientele without as much struggles as I had to go through finding my target market.
Please tell us about Studio Lux/The Healthy Hair Society.
I specialize in healthy hair care taking care of your hair under protective styles and also being confident in where are your natural hair using protective styles as an option. What sets me apart is I educate my clients on hair care I also have a healthy hair care plan called the healthy hair society which is available Who anyone whether you’re my client or not this is a plan I put in place to help you reach your hair goals. My passion for healthy hair care and my results have brought me where I am today. I am very proud of all the lives that change simply with education, happy healthy hair and helping women become more comfortable with their natural hair.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would have went to beauty school years ago when my mother told me I should have. I would’ve hired help early in my career.
