Conversations with the Inspiring Zyania Coral Benavides

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zyania Coral Benavides.

Zyania Coral, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was 14 years old when my family and I moved to Houston. I went to Lamar High School and graduated as Texas Honors and member of Joan’s Karff Women On The Way Up organization which introduced me to theater, fine arts, successful women in business as guest speakers of Houston along with guidance and encouragement to be an independent goal getter type of woman. I am a commercial and lifestyle model since the age of 16. When I was 20 years old, I made the choice to marry. It did not work out as planned and we divorced three years later. However, my son Caleb who is 11 years old now is the greatest blessing in my life. I am a first-generation college graduate. I currently work in accounting for an oil and gas company. I also have my own business that I run on the side in the beauty/skincare industry. I feel in love with Rodan and Fields the number 1 skincare company in North America and the business opportunity is helping me to fulfil my dreams. My purpose is to help women through my organization along with reaching out to others to feel empowered, confident and be a part of a community of independent, strong, brave women and create a movement about worthiness and a positive mindset.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road and I would not have it any other way. Learning from everything that has happened along the way has taught me something. We learn from our bad choices, we grow from the pain and we move on to the greatest levels of consciousness breaking through the difficulties. I married at 20 years old and had my son when I was 21. I divorced at 23. I matured faster and shaped my work ethic and “hustleness” at a young age along with molding my character to be resilient, strong, independent, brave and confident. My advice to younger women would be to focus on genuinely loving themselves, embrace life, surround themselves with people who inspire and support you. Get rid of what doesn’t serve you rather quickly. Walk away from toxic relationships, read books that develop your awareness and increase the value of your self-image. Believe that you can, and you will.

What should we know about Rodan and Fields? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I recently reached a new corporate rank in my company. I am known for calling all the women in my organization Queens. I love to empower people and help them reach their goals. I love helping my customers and personalize their skin care needs. It fills my heart with joy when I get a call or a text saying, “My life has changed thanks to this product” or “This cream feels amazing on my skin”. Just to think about it gives me chills of joy and excitement for them. The community we have created with my team is shaped by women who are positive and likeminded, supportive and overall encourage each other to succeed. We hang out together just because, we go to trainings, celebrate each other successes. We have a group chat where we safely share any business or personal questions. It is my own Queendom. My products are formulated by the dermatologist Katy Rodan and Kathy Fields who created Proactive Solutions. I have a solution to any skin concern.

As an R+F Executive Consultant, I love that I can help people live better in their skin and become more empowered in their lives. When my customers ask me how they can achieve clearer, more radiant-looking skin, I tell them that the R+F secret to great-looking skin is Multi-Med Therapy®, using the right ingredients in the right formulations and applying them in the right order. I am confident about my products. They work!

Do you have any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general? What has worked well for you?
Having a mentor is vital, especially if you run a business. You need to find a person who has the achievements you want to have. Think about what the highest version of your self looks like, write down your goals. Find the best person in your field and put yourself to work along with that person. Follow exactly what they tell you to do. Face your fears and conquer them. If you don’t have an official mentor yet, read biographies of successful people, go to seminars and workshops, be diligent on learning more about yourself. My mentor is Cayla Craft creator of Mommy Millionare.co. If you haven’t listened to her podcasts, you deficiently should. I love audible and listening to powerful women stories helps me visualize me and the queens around me. Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself.
