Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Sanders.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always had a passion for music. I play drums and sing, I’m a son of pastors and I have musicians all through my family. Me meeting music was inevitable. I embraced singing in high school and full-blown ministry in my twenties and I had a desire to come together with a collective of people that we’re able to produce this unique sound I kept hearing. That collective became known as Sounds of Kingdom.
We established officially in 2012. We’ve released a total of 4 singles and we’re anticipating the release of our very first live recorded album! We’re excited and can’t wait for what lies ahead!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wish I could say it’s been easy, but unfortunately, it hasn’t. Pursuing music ministry has its own set of challenges, especially when working with a collective. We all have individual lives, goals, dreams, and aspirations and we all have to be very sensitive to that.
One of the songs I wrote came in the heels of a dear friend passing away two days beforehand. It was so tough to articulate through the loss, but the song written for our dear friend is one of the closest, most personal songs I’ve ever written.
All in all, every challenge has been worth it and I’m undeniably grateful for it.
Sounds of Kingdom – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Sounds of Kingdom holds the assignment of bringing a unique sound and freeing experience to the approach of worship! I believe worship should have this impact that would allow you to feel like all of Heaven is rejoicing with you. That’s what we do anytime we come together!
One of the things we specialize in is Prison Ministry. We’ve been doing it consistently since 2015 and there’s nothing like it! It’s one of the things that keep us grounded and balanced in ministry.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
One of the proudest moments of our career was standing on stage at our very first live recording and seeing all of the support and love from Houston in a standing room only capacity! The love, the worship that went forth, and the presence of God that was in the room cannot be matched! It was simply electric!
