So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Krave Your Chocolates was established October 2018. However, I was making chocolates long before then; I used to give them out as gifts to family members during the holidays. Please keep in mind I never wanted to do this as a business because this was something I enjoyed creating during the holidays for my family. About two years ago, my mother took sick which resulted in me being her caretaker full-time. As a result, I was unemployed for two years. During that time, I thought long and hard about my career and where it was headed and that’s when I decided to turn my hobby into my business; I have enjoyed every minute of it. What I went through with my mother’s health challenges has opened my eyes to limitless possibilities and reaching new goals.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been an easy task because I questioned myself quite often in deciding in regards to customers liking my products as well as the prices. Consumers do not recognize that ingredients are very expensive when you’re making these products from scratch. Therefore, it was a learning experience to set goals for myself and to set goals for my business. Once you set your goals for your business you want to make sure those goals are effective and can be accomplished. Once you see the growth of your business you strive to set higher goals and higher profits.
Krave Your Chocolates – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Krave Your Chocolates is a mobile business that specializes in homemade chocolate candy that will satisfy your crave. I specialize in pralines, German Chocolate cake/slices, white chocolate w/pecans, white chocolate w/strawberry krispies, dark chocolate with pecans or almonds, milk chocolate w/krispies, pecans, almonds or walnuts. My top seller are the pralines and German Chocolate Cake/slices. I am most proud of my products when they sell and when my customers tell me how much they enjoy eating my products. What sets me apart from others is that I am creating delicious and tasty products that are different from what other companies are doing at this time.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Some of the proudest moments of my career is having my daughter and niece working side by side with me in my business and when there are repeating customers who can’t get enough of Krave Your Chocolates. It keeps them coming back for more while building my business at the same time.
