Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Vanessa Barrow.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Dr. Vanessa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Proud Native Houstonian, I grew up in Houston’s Historic Third Ward. I have always had a strong interest for medicine and attended The High School For Health Professions. Following that received her Bachelors in Athletic Training in the School of Kinesiology at The University of Michigan at Ann Arbor (Go Blue!), where I competed as an NCAA Cheerleader. Combining her love of sports and medicine, I received her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at The Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. After practicing Podiatric Medicine and Surgery for 13 years, Dr. Barrow opened Sole Aesthetic, LLC, an innovative practice unlike any other here in the Houston Area where the focus is on Aesthetic and Regenerative Medicine of the Foot and Ankle. Crowned as Houston’s Own Hot Doc In Heels, I am passionate about fitness and fashion, and believe that patients who desire the same can have both.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I would say the biggest challenge is bringing awareness to what I do and the specialized services I provide. Because it’s so new and innovative, many don’t know it exists, so I’ve had to work diligently to get the message out there. There are no models or foundation that have been laid down for this type of practice. I am creating my own path.

I opened my practice in February of 2018. Sole Aesthetic is the first of its kind in the Houston area to present unique aesthetic and regenerative medicine services exclusively for the foot and ankle. Excited to finally to bring the integrated worlds of podiatric, regenerative and aesthetic medicine to Houston, Sole Aesthetic provides the newest and most innovative effective non-surgical treatment alternatives utilizing biologic technology for patients seeking the future of medicine. Regenerative or Restorative medicine, such as Stem Cell Therapy, taps into the body’s ability to heal itself. I am MOST proud to become the face of Aesthetic and Regenerative Medicine of the Foot and Ankle. I am fiercely passionate about being a game-changer in my field.
What were you like growing up?
I was always self-motivated, driven, and ambitious growing up. Taking on leadership roles in everything I became involved in.
