Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Jackson.
Brandy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I got started in the insurance industry in 2013. I left a fortune 500 company as a sales manager and wanted a career change. I wanted to become an entrepreneur when a personal friend that was already in the industry introduced me to Insurance. She thought I would be great at it due to my sales background. After my own research, I took a liking to it due to the opportunity to help and work with people and use my sales background and began to set out on my journey. I began working with a corporation to get my feet wet and learn the industry firsthand. After a year and a half, I started my transition to an even larger company. I became a sales representative with Allstate in 2014 and worked under agents to hone in on my skills. After a year and a half, I leaped into faith and secured my position as an exclusive agent in 2016, Thus bringing about The Brandy Jackson Agency. It was a great opportunity, I learned a lot and it was a great experience, After being an agent with them for a short period of time of three years, I had an epiphany of wanting more. That included my vision of expanding my services and becoming an independent agent. I decided to build a legacy and empire for my family. Being an Independent Agent has been nothing short of a great learning experience and opportunity. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy; however, it is worth everything.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road has not always been smooth. With any business, there are challenges and ups and downs. Some of the challenges as an entrepreneur, I would have to say, finding the right staff to hire and finding people that believe in your business just as much as you do. Also, having a work life balance is a major challenge for new entrepreneurs.

Brandy Jackson is considered one of the most well-respected insurance agents in Houston and the surrounding areas. As an exclusive agent and owner of The Brandy Jackson Agency where she attended Texas Southern University. She is also a graduate of the University of Phoenix. Brandy has over five years of experience in the insurance industry and more than 15 years of indirect experience. Her agency is one of the goals, winning several awards, including “The Circle of Champions,” one of the highest agency awards with Allstate. Brandy has also been recognized as being one of the few African-American women who own their own Allstate Insurance Agency.
Brandy understands the responsibilities and challenges of business ownership and adds special expertise and capabilities to serve existing clients and engage new clients professionally and accurately. Currently, Brandy holds the Texas Property & Casualty, Texas Life & Health and Retirement Services Insurance Licenses. As a creative, critical thinker committed to customer service, her primary goal is to provide clients with accessible expertise and an honest, thoughtful, problem-solving approach to insurance. Being able to offer customers options for a wide variety of coverage and services is what Brandy likes most about her profession. She helps people every step of the way when deciding on purchasing insurance. Her business motto is “No hype.”
Brandy enjoys being a part of the community and building local relationships. She promises to give her customers a 100% commitment. Brandy is committed to providing her customers with the highest level of personal service, not only for today but for a lifetime. One of the few African American Women that own their own Insurance Agency. March 2019 we are excited to announce the launch of The Brandy Jackson Agency LLC.
Brandy is committed to helping Houston residents assess their immediate and long-term needs and choose options that will help them achieve their goals. Brandy is a Texas native, born in Houston, TX.
I am most proud of being able to start my own independent company and start a legacy for my family. What sets me apart from any competitor is my knowledge in the industry and the personal service that I provide to my clients, whether big or small; everyone is important. We provide a high level of customer service.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Houston is an amazing place to have a business in. Houston is the 4th largest city in the U.S. and we are continuing to grow. With all of the commercial and residential real estate being built; It is definitely a great place to be. Insurance is a high demand service so I would definitely recommend them to start it in Houston.
