Meet Birgit Kamps

Today we’d like to introduce you to Birgit Kamps.

Birgit, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
*I lived in six countries and learned five languages by the age of ten.
*After graduating from University of Houston Bauer School of Business, I worked for a public accounting firm, two large international companies, and a small staffing firm, before becoming an entrepreneur.
*In 2010, after starting and selling HireSynergy LLC (an “Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Private Company” and “Best Place to Work in Texas” firm) to Addison search, I founded Hire Universe LLC. Since then, I have been supporting CEO’s, Private Equity firms, and Board Members with the process of evaluating executives, coaching decision makers and identifying leadership blind spots to quickly increase performance.
* For the last decade, I also served three terms as a Board Member of the Gulf Coast Workforce Commission and two terms as Chair of the Workforce Education Committee.
* Recently I started the “CEO Blindspots Podcast”

Has it been a smooth road?
No. Struggles included two health crisis, a financial loss due to a Ponzi scheme, and the honor of being surprised by my daughter late in life (I’m 53 with an 11-year-old) and a single Mom.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Hire Universe story.
In 2010, after starting and selling HireSynergy LLC (an “Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Private Company” and “Best Place to Work in Texas” firm), I founded Hire Universe LLC. Since then, I have been supporting CEO’s, Private Equity firms, and Board Members with the process of evaluating executives, coaching decision makers and identifying leadership blind spots to quickly increase performance.

What I am known for being like a “Human X-ray machine” who can see right through people and discover blindspots at lightning speed helping leaders accomplish more through further development of their teams and making sure the right people are on and off the bus.”

I am most proud of how I have supported CEO’s in achieving their next level of success and starting the “CEO Blindspots Podcast,” so leaders may support other leaders in achieving their vision.

In addition, I learned five languages by the age of ten and lived in six countries, allowing me to quickly discern a company’s culture and non-verbal communication, as well as miscommunication and leadership blind spots.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see a big shift in the workforce. Changes in employee-employer loyalty (turn-over), work hours (flex hours), number of distractions (social media, mobile devices) etc.
