Meet Chelsea Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Williams.

Chelsea, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Photography became my passion as a child. After receiving my first SLR camera as a birthday gift, I photographed everything in my life. I took night classes at a community college while I was in high school to learn darkroom and technical aspects of photography. I went on to get my Bachelors Degree in Photography at Sam Houston State University. I opened Chelsea Williams Photography in 2009. I continued my education over the years through Professional Photographers of America and the Texas Professional Photographers Association. I am a Certified Professional Photographer with PPA. I also hold a Craftsman Degree with Professional Photographers of America. I now focus on beauty portraits and making women look and feel their best on camera. While cultivating an uplifting experience for my clients.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, of course not! Any business owner that says it has been smooth sailing is lying! At the beginning of my journey as a portrait photographer, I was doing everything. Weddings, events, Santa, anything! I hated it! I wouldn’t say I liked the quality I was giving to my clients, and I had no passion for it. When I decided to take control and only do the things I love, I found success! I found I could produce better quality and be a better photographer when I said no to everything that wasn’t right for me.

Please tell us about your work.
