Today we’d like to introduce you to Jastin Martin.
Jastin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Jastin Martin. I am 19 years old (soon to be 20), and I am from Houston, Texas. I have been in love with music since I was born, I’ve been singing since age seven, and writing as well as professionally recording music since age fifteen. I am currently in school, attending grumbling state university, and since I have been here, my fan base has grown tremendously. Trying to find a balance between school, music, and work can be difficult but is worth it. I now record, mix & master my own music myself and I have studio equipment which makes it a little easier not having to travel to get to a studio like I used to.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, but nothing in life that you want and is worth it is going to be easy. I’ve been through ups and downs with my music career in numerous different aspects such as, being and feeling stagnant as if nothing was moving for me, not having the means of transportation or money to get to a studio right when I wanted and needed to, and so much more. But I have learned patience and I now take all matters into my own hands, referring to owning my own equipment.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I feel like Houston is a great place for artists, and entrepreneurs due to how large it is, all the recourses, and the love Houstonians show to each other!
