Today we’d like to introduce you to Big Bad Kab.
Big Bad Kab, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started rapping in the 8th grade, recording my first song “Bring the Pain” in the 9th grade in which I put on CD’s and sold at school, this was the beginning of fire to the wood, I sold out. I continued recording and selling mixtapes at gas stations, on corners, and in neighborhoods, rapping to whoever wanted to listen. My mother started as my most prominent critic. She found numerous notebooks filled with rhymes that she did not approve of. As a result, she would throw them away to find that I would continue to write more. It was clear that I had a passion and talent for rap. I’ve opened for acts such as Big KRIT and Slaughterhouse. I sold out my first headliner in May 2012 leaving my fans something to remember. I went on “Sway in the Morning” in 2019 and freestyled on the Friday Cypher. I also was on Slim Thug’s KOTN challenge/song. I have released several projects, “Bully on Tha Beat” January 2012, “Kab Route: A3C Mixtape” October 2012, “Bully on Tha Beat 2” July 2016, “Vokab” January 2018, “Vokab2” 2019. I have “Vokab3” dropping in the month of March, it’s going to be something different for my fans. Overall I keep going and showing my talent to the world. I’m in the studio always working or doing shows.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Success is never easy; it’s an everyday challenge for an underground artist from branding yourself to just putting out music it an everyday struggle.
Please tell us abouut your music.
When I get on the mic, especially in the midst of a crowd, everything goes silent. People want to hear my bars. They want to listen to my wordplay and how I command the attention. Bully Gang is my movement, I “bully” every track I get on. My bars and delivery is like no other!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am dropping Vokab3, expand Bully Gang gear, grow my brand and name on a global level.
