Today we’d like to introduce you to Aidai Garnelo.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve been a makeup enthusiast since my teenage years. That enthusiasm led me to explore in the world of beauty. I began with makeup which then led me to threading eyebrows and then henna and most recently, eyelash extensions.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Trends are changing all the time and I have to stay open-minded to them all and be true to myself simultaneously. My advice to others who are pursuing a similar career choice would be to not allow negative feedback deter you from your goals.
Please tell us about Aidai Artistry.
I would have to say that I am most proud of my henna body art. I first picked up a henna cone when I was 16 years old as a hobby and for self-adornment. Later at 25, I revisited henna after I had my daughter. Being at home, this was a way of self-care. I began to educate myself in this beautiful plant and I now make my own, all organic, henna paste to adorn my clients.
What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
Don’t lose sight of your goals.
