Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda Lizzette Grajales Gutierrez.
Brenda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started massage Therapy school in 2013 as my oldest sister was taking the course she believed I would love it and would benefit so much from it. I got the opportunity to work at a Massage spa located in Spring for the next five years in administration, in charge of sales, appointment scheduling, check-in and out clients, advertising, staff organization, I left my massage therapy course aside and learned so much about running a business that I got very interested in one day opening my own Spa, then I decided to finally take my state exam, got my Massage therapy license on August 2018, and decided to jump into the business industry right away, I opened my private practice Waves Therapeutic Massage in September 2018.
Has it been a smooth road?
This journey has been rough, as I started from cero clients the hardest part was getting my name out there, getting people to know me and trust my work, keeping my hopes up and not letting go of my dream is very difficult as well but I’ve surrounded myself with great people who want to see me and my business succeed, with almost two years in business we already went through a very difficult time due to COVID-19 with more than two months with our doors closed my hopes where lost and I was about to closed down, luckily my landlord is an amazing business woman who understood the struggle and helped me stay to keep working hard for myself and my business. It almost feels like starting from cero but with way more experience than when I started it.
Please tell us about your business.
Waves Therapeutic Massage is a private massage studio located in Spring Texas, inside of Tranquil Salon & Spa suites, I offer Swedish Massages, deep tissue, sports, prenatal and Aromatherapy sessions, from 30 minutes to 2 hours long, I’m proud to see my business grow each day with new clients that usually stay to be regular and loyal customers, what sets Waves TM apart from other massage businesses is that we are 100% a professional private Massage studio, with personalized services, flexible time schedule, affordable pricing, no memberships, contract or any kind of commitment, “if you need a massage, get it”, I respect everyone’s privacy modesty, and quite time. Helping others to feel great and stress free is what makes me very happy.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love how we are so united as a community, how there is a chance for every single one of us to follow our dreams, in my case was to open my own business, I love that being such a big and popular city I get to meet people from all over the world, and learn from so many cultures, the least that i like about the city is traffic, I believe everyone agrees with me on this one.
