Today we’d like to introduce you to Arta and Arsha Attar.
Arta and Arsha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
For years we have always wanted to start a YouTube channel together but it never felt like right timing. After multiple attempts of trying to film a first video for the channel, the app Tiktok came along. This past March, we finally decided to give this app a try. Something was telling us you need to start working for your dreams now, and we knew it was the right time. We had originally fell in love with the app beforehand because it was so funny, creative, and relatable. We would consistently keep up on the trends, dances, and finding sounds we enjoyed making content with. Over time we realized the more you post on TikTok, the more your account grows. We starting engaging with our followers by liking and responding by to their comments. We also would go on their pages and like some of their TikToks as well! By doing these tasks and staying authentic to ourselves, we organically grew our page to our likings.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of our first challenges in this journey was balancing school and work-life with TikTok. Those two came first so we had a hard time being active on TikTok. Then, quarantine happened so we found ourselves with a lot of free time. We took advantage of the time and decided to post twice a day. In the beginning, we were under the assumption that TikTok videos were fast and easy to make, however we were proven wrong. It looks to be easy because they are short videos, but it does take time and effort. When we first started, our videos took longer to make because we were getting familiar with the app and camera. Now that we have been doing this for five consecutive months, the process is faster for us now. Other obstacles were TikTok dances. At first, it would take us hours to learn one dance because we didn’t have a strong dancing background. With consistency, learning a TikTok dance now takes us minutes.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Our page consists of TikTok dances, comedy, acting, and the latest trends! Most of our content is correlated to twin relationships and trying to create creative content revolving that. We try to wear the same outfit or if not at least matching. We have started a YouTube channel to further talk about twin related topics to show more lifestyle content for our followers to get to know us better. With time we want to dabble into other areas of unique content for our followers. We believe two things set us apart on TikTok. One, whatever we do whether it is dancing, acting, or comedy we put in our full effort in each TikTok and we believe it shows. Two, we have used the advantage of being a twin while staying creative and authentic.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
We would say the number one tip to be successful on TikTok is to not give up, no matter discouraged you feel. It is essential to stay consistent, think outside of the box, and to stay true to yourself. The numbers definitely take time to show up so it is not overnight success. Of course, we had moments of discouragement but we didn’t let that get to us. Always believing in yourself and remaining optimistic will get to your success.
