Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandria Park.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
After graduating from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I practiced Interior Architecture for several years as a commercial architect I have worked for a few prestigious Chicago design firms designing retail shops and restaurants and participated in projects that have won awards.
I have taken a few years off from working to have a family and also had experience living in countries such as Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. After my kids were old enough to go to school I decided to open a blog site under the name Apark Design Studio back in 2011. The blog site was for the residential home owners to get ideas about paint colors, simple decoration and also guidance on how to lay out furniture in their homes.
I have gained fans over the years asking to come to their homes to design and that’s when I decide to open my own company Apark Design Studio LLC in 2012.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For the most part, it was great to finally work and get back on the design arena after taking a few years off. The only struggle if any is finding the right people I can trust for the construction. I feel I achieved that now. I have 2 great crews working for me. They are truly professional and I can trust them to get the jobs done and on time.
Apark Design Studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I offer a broad range of services within the Interior field of Design. Whether the requirement is all about a style of timeless sophistication or the contemporary minimalism, I balance the details of clients’ treasured space to meet clients’ needs with immaculate residential interior designing service.
Alternatively, our full home design services are a budget friendly alternative to traditional high-cost interior design. I can help clients from color selection to completed remodeling project – they just let me know how much they would like me to do.
I also try to make the most of the clients’ existing furnishings- and maybe add a few new small accessories to create a new design in their homes. This is a great way to make the space feel new without much of an impact to their bottom line. It can be a simple paint color change or rearranging furniture to a major constructional changes.
My approach to interior design makes beautiful rooms at budget-friendly prices and also supplier discounts.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I design to be both functional and dramatic, yet timeless in its appeal. Architecture enables me to combine the strongest aspects of my personality. I have fascination with functional art and design, enthusiasm for solving practical problems. I focus on quality, providing Interior Architectural services that demand inspired design and technical expertise. All projects are approached thoughtfully resulting in unique and sometimes unexpected solutions.

Alex with Apark Design is fantastic! We are so blessed to have found her. Our neighbor recommended her when our house flooded and she came in and took over. Our remodel is clipping right along and she eye for detail and design is AMAZING. We are very appreciative to Apark Design.
