Delene, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The year 2019 was the beginning of this amazing and rewarding future that I stand in today. That year, I received my eyelash extension license. I came from a legal background and being a paralegal for a criminal and family law attorneys since I had graduated high school, so keep in-mind I had zero knowledge over lashes or anything that had to do in the beauty industry. One thing was clear to me that I was a hands-on person and that I wanted to work for myself. Lashing was the perfect fit for me. I stepped into the unfamiliar and challenged myself into an industry I knew nothing of. I found Ombré Powder Brows not too long after that, and this is where I truly found my true passion. I knew I wanted to stand out from other local artists and began flying to Los Angeles, California to take different pieces of training. Brows are life-changing for women and seeing their reactions when they look in the mirror is just so priceless. Months after I finished school is when I opened House of Lash and Brows. Little by little, it has been growing and it has no intention on slowing down.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not. One of the biggest struggles was balancing being a mother and being a business owner. Since I first began my career, I wanted to prove myself that I could do this so I took in as many clients as I could. I was working seven days a week and I missed out on many school events, games, field trips, family gatherings. There were many days I was ready to give it up.

House of Lash and Brows was founded in Waller, Texas and is a salon that simultaneously aims to provide the very best quality products and services for eyelash and eyebrow services to our clients. We specialize in eyelash extensions, serving, volume, hybrid and classic lashes, eyebrow tinting, eyebrow waxing, ombré powder brows and much more.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Yes, opening one more location is in my plans for the future, which I think maybe happening quicker than I thought.
