So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, I was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. I was moved to St. Louis where I graduated High school and then received my Cosmetology License. Doing pretty well there, I decided I wanted more out of life so I moved to Houston in 2004. It definitely wasn’t what I expect, I thought my grind and passion would be enough to make me when touching down.
Not realizing I’m in a city way bigger than St. Louis and Syracuse combined. Moving down here with my three children solely depending on my hustle was very challenging while I was able to build a little, it was not favorable. I moved back to Syracuse to get my mind right and back on my feet with the support of my family. I moved back a year later, determined not to let Houston defeat me and my ambitions. While I traveled my hair business to every city I lived, I never gave up. I came back in 2018 with my mind made up that I was never going back and this is my home now. I fought and struggled to build my clientele. No car, no license catching the bus I eventually graduated to receiving my license to put me and me babies in a car so I could get to the money faster and still handle my business. I did Uber, Lyft, Door dash, etc to compensate for the lack of clientele I had. While being homeless, managing my children’s schooling, building my clientele and continuing on a paper chase, I never lost sight of who and what I am I kept going.
Corona hit I was down bad losing hope of ever getting out my situation. I calculate some numbers and realize that sacrifice, fear and discipline is what I lacked. I was living in a temporal mindset and put myself in a box. Long story short, I started disciplining myself and started putting my money Intentions into the future and started a frequency of longevity. And out nowhere, the universe started to conspire for me, I started seeing and I slowly surrender to the guidance. Clients started rolling in like crazy. I got a stable home, my creativity sparked and I just started working on myself and truly learning how to serve and except my role of being a leader that knows how to follow. And it started reflecting more and more in my work and how I treat people and my clients. They love me and I love them. I’m just learning the rules to this game called life but overall discovery, discipline and sacrifice is what got me where I am today.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it wasn’t smooth at all life broke me and purged me. I had to let go of what formulas I thought worked and realized the levels to greatness require so much more and it’s more concerned with subtleties of life. Like discipline, choice, kindness, standing firm, having vision, keep your hope when it’s lost, creating your reality by holding on to goals, not worrying about goes, you’ll get there but just trusting in you to get you there. Overall it’s about trust and knowing your beating the odds. No matter what having a Mamba Mentally and just dominating even if you’re down. I have So much content about my story I can’t even name it all right now.

StrictlyHair19 is Cosmetology business where I perform hair service to clients. I truly am the “Ultimate Stylist” and one stop shop. I specialize in natural hair. Locs, loc repair, loc extension, braids, crotchet, silk press, etc. I also do weave installations from traditional sewins to brainless sewin. It’s pretty much nothing I can do when hair. A lot of my techniques are self-taught. My clients challenge me and I make it my mission to give them what they envision. I’m most proud of the way I treat my clients, how I make them feel and giving them exactly what they want while keep my work ethic consistent.
Luxury Herbatory is my all natural product that create for my client to promote hair growth and healthy scalp. Body soaps and body butters just for overall cleanliness and health. Strictly Hair Bundles. Is 100% Raw virgin hair that I sell to broaden my horizon from residue income to building up my content in my work portfolio but perform the sewin frontal and closures installations. What makes me different is I never stop creating; I am truly an alchemist. I turn salt into sugar from my life to my work ethics. My goal is to impact everything and everybody that crosses my path.
