Meet Zion Lewis of Pretty Boy Gothic in North

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zion Lewis.

Zion, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My brand started all from an accessibility standpoint. Simply put, supreme and all these other popular brands were either always sold out or you had to drop serious bread to get them. So I decided why don’t I do something where I make it for the people and make what I like.

Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not, I legit remember people in high school turning it into more of a joke because how could this kid ever end up making this work. Kind of funny how back when I was selling one hoodie and a couple of shirts a month nobody really cared. I definitely make sure I show love to those that were down since the jump though.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
We create clothes, but we also want to provide a community. I’ve done giveaways to communities within Houston with kids that may not have had the chance to go out and get some hype stuff. We also had our fundraiser for the Know Your Rights campaign and that went extremely well also. I think what sets us apart is everything I do is genuine. I’m not trying to price gouge anyone; I just want to provide the best quality possible and make generational money so my future family is taken care of. I make clothes for everybody there’s not a soul alive that can gatekeep PBG.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I mean with the clothing industry, even though you have to roll with the punches it’s also really smart to stick to your roots. I feel like in 5-10 years, we are gonna be able to actually have a staff and run this thing big time with drops on a consistent basis.
