Hi Karen, it’s honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Not realizing that I was on a spiritual journey of my own, I’ve always been aware of the inner(g) that I carried into a room, and I would find myself reading the inner(g) of others who entered my space. I found myself questioning everything that was taught to me as a child. I was seeking an intentional lifestyle of growing deeper in knowledge and wisdom. I suddenly felt that what I was seeing in front of me wasn’t enough and I desired more.
Inner(g) was born out of a newfound passion while on my own journey. I became inspired by the power of clean inner(g) and its pure life force. I realized that by helping others tap into their own balancing and restorative properties that I could uplift the hearts and minds of humanity. My intention was and is to slowly remove the stigma associated with metaphysics (beyond the physical). Shortly after, I had conversations with two of my best friends (Terrance Harris, my husband and Deena Thomas), and all of my fears and doubts were eliminated. The very next day, I created the logo, and here we are. 😉
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been smooth, and I wouldn’t want it to be. That’s the beauty of being. Some of the struggles were all in my head, for example, I had begun to allow my negative thoughts to take over. I was at one point thinking that the metaphysical business was oversaturated, and that no one would purchase from me. I quickly reminded myself that no matter how many people offer the same products, I am me and that is my superpower.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about you’re your work?
My background is healthcare. I have been in healthcare for over 20 years, mostly in a hospital setting. My goal was to become a nurse at some point, but my desire for nursing slowly faded. I do however have a patient that I currently care for and because its on our terms, and no one else’s, it brings me joy to provide care for her. I walked away from the hospital setting and was led into the tax world, and after reading my birth chart, it’s no surprise. I’ve been a tax professional now for the past three years at royalty tax service as a manager.
I’m most proud of my spiritual journey and the effects it’s having on my family and friends around me. They are learning and asking questions about what it all means, allowing for open and non-judgmental conversations about spiritual awakenings. I’m known for so many things: wife, mother of three and a bonus son, plant mom to over 20 plants, taxes, thrifting, and I am one of three hosts of a podcast. Lastly, the owner/founder of inner(g) 😉 one thing that sets me apart from others and this isn’t to say that I’m better than anyone else but I do practice humility. I ask myself “why am I doing this?”, and most times, the answer should be to benefit someone other than myself.
What are your plans for the future?
Plans for the future will be to continue to do what I’m currently doing until I’m led to do something different. I will continue to make sure that I offer the best quality products at affordable prices via my website innerg.online and at local pop up shops.
