Hi Michelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Michelle, the owner of Michelle’s Little Studio. I started in September 2020. Growing up, I’ve always liked baking since my mom was always the one baking/cooking in the kitchen. I remember when I was little, I would always be in the kitchen with her trying to learn after her techniques so that when I got older, I would take after her. So I thought, why not? I bought my first kitchen aid and decided to make a small treat box to give out to my neighbors, and that’s how it all began. I started to broadcast my business on Instagram and Facebook. Little by little, my client list grew, and one year later, I’m blessed with all the love and support I’ve received from my family and friends! This little hobby turned into something that I am truly passionate about and enjoy doing. I’m excited to continue growing and learning throughout this journey of mine.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely not! I think the hardest thing when starting up my small business was learning how to market my business and just being open-minded, and during COVID-19, it definitely made things more challenging. If anyone knows me, I’m a pretty shy person when it comes to public speaking, so that was one of the obstacles that set me back in the beginning. There were sleepless nights where I had to stay up preparing for events and sometimes even missing out on visiting my parents on the weekend, but every challenge is an opportunity, and I’m thankful for every one of them!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make a variety of customized sweet treats such as cakes, cookies, and chocolate-covered strawberries for any special occasion! I’m particularly known for my cakes which can be specially made to resemble numbers or letters. What sets me apart is my determined creativity. I’m willing to listen and perform to the best of my abilities to all my customers’ wishes so they can have a satisfactory experience. I pride myself in being a small local business that is very community orientated. My business guarantees exceptional customer service valued on friendliness and customer satisfaction.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The one thing that matters to me most is family. They have been there for me through the tough times and also the good times. They give me the inspiration and motivation to get me to where I am right now. I dream of being successful so that I can one day open my own bakery store to help out my family. My family is the root of my creativity because, without family, there wouldn’t be me.
