Hi Lynn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
It all started with my brother’s wedding. I had agreed to craft the flower arrangements for his big day. Little did I know, it went so well that I found myself preparing the weekly floral arrangement at church for the next 12 years. Soon after, I committed myself to my career by pursuing classes taught by famed florist Frankie Shelton, AIFD, and became a certified Texas Floral Designer as well as a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers. That is when I launched my dream business, Prestige Events. It began as a small flower shop but soon evolved into a blossoming business. Just a few years after opening, we added a linen department as well as lighting, custom props and much more.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
One of the main challenges within this market is staying up with the trends and being ahead of the upcoming trends! It pushes myself and my talented team members to constantly be thinking of the next big thing, whether that may be a custom prop, floral design, head table decor or ceiling treatment.
We love to have challenges thrown at us to remind ourselves that we are capable of anything.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We design and decorate upscale events, corporate functions, season church decorations, weddings, and much more. We provide the highest quality of linens, freshest floral arrangements, create custom prop designs and that only touches the surface of what we do at Prestige Events.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Our greatest happiness is when we do a room reveal with the bride and groom. We have seen so many tears throughout our years of doing this work and hearing, “this is my dream come true” always makes our hard work and long hours worth it.
