Today we’d like to introduce you to Norman Houston.

Hi Norman, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m truly elated to introduce NHouston Events to you. Our team has been hired to bring several wedding dreams and Special luxury styled events to life across the world (US to PARIS). With over 10 years of professional experience, NHouston Events offers the convenience of many services within one company.

Our goal is to help you achieve your every event dream while making the planning process stress free. We proudly work with some of the nation’s top event producers and vendors to create an event truly to, AMAZE!!

We specialize in all things special events (Specializing in Weddings – Our Owners Favorite lol ), whether it’s in Houston or across the Globe. We are an all-encompassing, event concierge company that specializes in creating a seamless event experience from start to finish while providing unparalleled and cohesive customer service.

Our visionary, Norman Houston Began his event planning journey at a very early age in High School ( Robert S. Rogers & Scott – Toledo, Ohio ) As a Sophomore, Norman was already a part of the year’s Homecoming and Senior Prom committee. Norman later furthered his career as a student at Central State University, a historical black college located in the heart of Ohio. It is here at Central State University, Norman served as the Student Government Activities Senator, Scholarship Marching band member, Student Ambassador, Freshman Mentor, Central Chorus Member, Representative of the College of Business (COB) as Mr. COB 2013-14.

Norman obtained a dual degree in Marketing and Hospitality Management. Over the course of High School and College Norman was employed with various companies such as Sodexo, Hilton, Toledo Hospital, and The State of Ohio (in which he received after being the only student offered a full time position at the close of that summer’s internship program) During this time the development of what is known today as NHouston Events, had begun.

Upon College completion, Norman was offered a full time management position with Marriott anywhere in the world – in which he chose the great state of Texas. Over the course of his time in Houston, Texas Norman has held the positions of Food & Beverage Manager, Restaurant Manager, Catering Sales Assistant, Events Sales Manager, Design & Office Manager, Director of Catering and Events with such companies as Decor2Remember, Marriott, IHG Hospitality, Sonesta, and Hilton.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Over the course of time, there have definitely been some obstacles along from lack of funding, Covid-19, Death in Family, and sometimes just trying to keep up and stay relevant.

But what has gotten Norman through these things and still getting him by is his support from strong family and friendships base. Overall the biggest support is his spiritual relationship with God.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
– Spiritual Connection & Relationship
– Staying Humble
– Staying Hungry, never stop wanting to learn more and expand.
– Relationships (the varied person you may cutoff in line may be the very next person to elevate your brand )
