Today we’d like to introduce you to Derek and Allison (Allie) Johnson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Derek and Allison (Allie). So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In 2008, I moved from Indiana to Texas to help run my friend’s pool company. It is that time that I realized I enjoyed working on pools. I dreamed of one day having my own business but the time was not right yet. For the next four years, I gained a lot of practical experience. In 2012, I decided to take a chance and started Black Pearl Pools. We have grown leaps and bounds since then. While I love working on pools, I really enjoy providing my customers with first class customer service with a friendly personal touch. We want each customer to feel like the only customer.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We have been incredibly blessed, to say the least. However, like any small business, there are ups and downs. My wife and I both worked full-time jobs while growing this business. Finding time for each other and our personal lives have been a struggle. We also grew this business from the ground up with our own personal money.
Black Pearl Pools – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Black Pearl Pools is a swimming pool maintenance, service, and repair company. We specialize in weekly maintenance. We are known for our exceptional customer service and expertise.
We are most proud of our customer retention and attention to detail.
We have amazing communication with our clients. They are never in the dark about their service and we are available to the most hours of the day for questions and help.
What role has luck (good luck or bad luck) played in your life and business?
We both have been able to leave our other jobs to devote all our attention to the company. That is a true blessing.
