Today we’d like to introduce you to Aleksandra Arnold.
Aleksandra, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We started our family business to give our son Maximilian an excellent learning environment, advance his Russian language skills, and develop his sense of Russian cultural heritage. We saw an interest and opportunity to share our goals with other like-minded international families and founded Good Morning Russian Preschool in 2016.
We’ve heard from a lot of parents that we offer exactly what they were looking for, and it’s been great to see the children learn and grow. We offer a very unique program, and we’re grateful to the community here in Houston that we’ve been able to see our dreams come true. Presently, we are at full enrollment and maintain a short waiting list.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In our first year, we started slowly. I think people were cautious about signing up with a new school, but our first families were enthusiastic supporters and gave glowing reviews. We also frequently update our facebook page and website with photos showing what we’re doing, which really helped drive attention. Now we’re at full enrollment and considering options for how to grow next year.

Good Morning! Russian Preschool offers affordable, fully immersive Russian preschool in Houston. I believe that a low teacher-student ratio sets us apart because it enables each child to receive meaningful attention and develop at their own pace.
My husband and I started our preschool to give our son the best Russian preschool experience and we share that commitment with all of our clients. Our daily schedule includes music, art, exercise, and lessons in math and language. I also emphasize experiential learning including cooking, gardening, and performances. We are proud to serve nutritious whole home-made meals prepared daily.
What I’m mostly proud of, though, is creating a space where my son can speak Russian to his friends on a daily basis despite being born and raised in an English-speaking country.
What were you like growing up?
I always enjoyed being the center of attention growing up. I did theater, chess club, camping club, track and field, and art club all at the same time. There was never a dull moment. My family pushed me hard to earn perfect grades, and I was very competitive. Personality wise, I was always curious and enjoyed teaching others, which is why I studied Teaching English and French in college. I attended college on full scholarship and graduated cum laude. I have always loved teaching, which is one of the reasons I started my business.
