Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittiany Barnes.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
This career found me actually. Before I moved to Houston, I was a correctional officer for 4 years studying criminal justice. I always had 2 jobs so I was also a police officer and did some dispatching as well because that’s what I thought I wanted to do. But over time, I have seen what the system actually was and didn’t care to be a part of it. So I decided to pack up my family (Me, my daughter and best friend at the time) and move to Houston in Jan 2019. I just knew Houston had another career opportunity for me, I just didn’t know what at the time. I knew I wanted to be my own boss because after working different pointless jobs here and there I felt like I was ready to at least try to build my own career as an entrepreneur.
Aug 2019 My home Daycare was created COVID got rid of that in March 2020 then We created Sticky Buds Collection Custom rolling trays for my smokers and over time the sales slimmed because I felt like I was overwhelmed with being independent with no help. So I decided to pick up a couple of hobbies something that I felt I might be good at which was helping businesses build. After my two striving businesses doing all the paperwork I just knew I could help any business that came my way.
April 2021 I came across Grade A Media Productions a black-owned Production company run by Squrilla (Derrick) Montana because I wanted to get into radio and they had the space available. After meeting with him I just knew they needed help with structure so he allowed me to organize his platform and also upgrade the studio. So over time I met 100s a ppl along the way Artists, Directors, videographers, models, engineers, Actors, photographers, Influencers, etc. That experience just made me realize that it’s a lot of money from the entertainment industry that I haven’t Even tapped in halfway yet.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I can definitely say it’s been a challenging road, moving from one state to another not knowing where that road leads. But all You need is motivation and confidence never fear!! Fear of trying new things, being creative, and simply being you!

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I learned is to stay consistent. Practicing consistency instills discipline and makes us focus and more aware of what we have to do. It can be pretty tough to let go of old habits, but if we want to improve things and achieve personal growth, we have to be consistent in everything we do.
