Tamara, has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been many growing pains along the way! The birthing process was not easy, but it flowed. One thing I’ve learned is to be mindful, stay steadfast, remain focused and don’t give up!
Finding a space of harmony is business and at home while raising two city ladies has been my greatest challenge. Now things flow and they understand they have to share mommy. Mom has to serve the community.
Would I have ever imagined selling my home and living in the heart of Houston? Never! Now, I would not have it any other way! I would only come to the city to shop and enjoy the night life. I see my city in a new light now. I have had the chance to appreciate the SOUL of my city! From art, to parks, diversity, concerts, festivals, and more weighs much heavier than a lil traffic here and there…
Plucked and More – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
“Changing lives one WAX strip at a time” was the original slogan that set the tone and precedence for Plucked.
We are a full body waxing, threading, and skin boutique. We also have extended the umbrella to offer lashes, spray tans and other beautification services.
We strive to accentuate your natural being. Allowing the light from within to reflect on the outside!
We offer a clean, comfortable, central, and welcoming environment.
Our technicians are well skilled and have over 15 years of experience.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The birthing process has not been easy, but to see how far we have come, to make it to our 3-year anniversary. Wow, seems like yesterday. Now I am able to extend the culture of Plucked to offer more services and availability to serve my community and to mentor other business owners who are just as passionate as me… for my daughters to smile and hand out a business card and say “my Mom will take great care of you ” this make me proud.
