Today we’d like to introduce you to Ken Robinson.
Hi Ken, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The initial start to my journey was totally by accident. I have always had a passion for creating art, but I could not draw. I tried to write short stories and poetry, but a camera would always end up in my hand. One day I went to a photo shoot with another photographer, and he asked me to be an assistant and I was very intrigued by what was going on. After that, I was hooked. I decided to get a camera and I asked a co-worker to be my first model. That day I found my creative niche. I started to study beauty and editorial photography and that is what I have been doing ever since. I love being a creative and having the chance to bring people’s visions to life with my creative team.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a smooth road overall. I have a great team that I have the pleasure of working with and we are continuing to grow and evolve. There have been some struggles along the way when it comes to finding the right model for a project or an actual space to create. As of right now, I do not have a studio and I am using my living room for my studio, but it is not anything that I could not overcome
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Beauty, Editorial, and Fashion photographer. I mainly focus on creating colorful beauty and editorial photos. I feel what sets me apart from others is my style of work. I love vibrant and colorful shoots. To me, it brings life to the photos and it’s livelier for my clients
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
One thing that people don’t really know about me is, this is my second job. I work for a bank as my main source of income. Photography is my passion, so I shouldn’t call it a job. I am very lucky to have met the creative team that I have. If it weren’t for them, I would not be where I am today.
