Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Rosez.
Hi DJ Rosez, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is DJ Rosez, and I started djing because of a Youtube video. During the pandemic, I was told the best way to have a really good state of mind is to work out and have a hobby. It seems silly, but the moment I was on Youtube, a video came up saying learn how to DJ with $500, so I invested used the covid money and bought my equipment, and it has blown up ever since.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Currently, I am facing struggles. I am officially now a full-time DJ. I am my own marketing manager, my booking agent, my own brand ambassador. Meaning I have to really manage my time extremely well with all the upcoming projects that are happening, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. I am extremely grateful to have a community that has my back and really believes in the mission that I am trying to portray that goes beyond the music being played at the club. It’s about curating spaces for some of the most overlooked communities.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a full-time DJ and sometimes an event curator. I am known for curating Latin vibes which provide a Latin theme, but don’t necessarily have to be a Latin song. I am proud to be repping my communities and being able to use my platform for something beyond the music and the industry. I am playing in the boiler room and I am extremely proud in curating a very special set in one of the amazing women in cumbia.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Mission-oriented, I think I do many sets with so much intentionality and purposefulness in hopes of communities to be represented, feel seen and valued. I think that is what has been resonating a lot with the people who attend my events and who have personally built intimate relationships with me.
