Today we’d like to introduce you to Karina Garcia.
Hi Karina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Being a Lash Technician was not my first choice. When I began lashing, I believed It would just be a hobby at first, but once I grew to love it as much as I did, it became my career.
My family has always had their own businesses, for example, my aunts owned a salon and invited me to work for them after taking my courses. This is where I got my experience with running a business and also seeing my aunts run their other businesses. This motivated & inspired me to become my own boss. After working for my aunts for about 3 years, I decided it was time to take a different path. It was time to become my own boss. I’m very thankful my family was understanding & supportive of my decision.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was difficult to balance my work time and personal time in the beginning. I also realized that as a business owner, all responsibilities fall on me. When owning a business you learn that sometimes things don’t always go as planned, but I’ve learned to manage and deal with any struggles that have come along.
As you know, we’re big fans of Rinas Beauty Bar. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
What sets me apart from others is that I strive for quality. I could easily see 10 clients a day make more money but I chose quality over quantity. I put my time & love into each set because I’d rather be known for my good work. As a Lash technician, my ultimate goal is to make each of my clients not only look beautiful but feel beautiful as well.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Something that I wished I knew, in the beginning, is that it’s okay to go at your own pace. Not everybody accomplishes things at the same time.
Do not be discouraged to step out of your comfort zone because that will ultimately be what drives you to accomplish your goals.
