Today we’d like to introduce you to Lydia Evans.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Lydia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I began my handcrafted natural skin care brand from my home in 2006. Outside of creating body butters and scrubs I spent much of my time networking and going door to door with my creations to get word of mouth out. I attended tons of expos and seminars to keep my knowledge base current and solid. In June 2012, I decided to further my understanding of the skin and body am became a Licensed Esthetician with special interest in medical spa services and treatments. I later invented the now famous SWAG Bar, which landed me on ABC’s hit show Shark Tank in December 2014. After quick expansion and rapid growth my products have shipped around the world from North Pole to Paris.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road of entrepreneurship is never an easy one. There have been many struggles and flat out mistakes along the way. From the ins and outs of working with family to not being completely versed in certain areas of business. I had an unusual growth spurt and with that came a lot of learning as I went along. I have since overcome many of my previous hurdles. It’s not about the falling down, it’s about the getting back up, dusting off and pushing forward.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about SW&G Essentials – what should we know?
SW&G Essentials is an acronym for Soaps Washes And Grooming Essentials. We manufacture and distribute natural fruit and plant based skin care across the US and Internationally. Globally we are known for our patented grooming product the SW&G Bar, a 3-in-1 loofah soap that cleanses, exfoliates and disinfects the skin’s surface in one use.
What sets us apart is our unique multi-functional products catered to both men and women. Our entire line of products are great for a variety of skin concerns and issues such as eczema, psoriasis, ingrown hair, acne, beard care and shaving irritations.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
A quality that I feel is a proponent of my success is creativity. My artsy colorful side that is always creating a new vision of innovative concepts that make every day grooming regimens fun and unique.
